Biography |
Scott Silverman has served as executive director of Shop.org since 2001. He is responsible for the overall management and leadership of Shop.org and its mission to help its members significantly improve their multichannel retail capabilities by addressing the evolving opportunities and issues related to the Internet and the integration with other channels.
He is a frequent speaker and has been quoted in major news outlets including USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, NPR, Investors Business Daily and The Washington Post..
Prior to becoming executive director of Shop.org, Silverman was Vice President, Internet Retailing with the National Retail Federation, which acquired Shop.org in 2001.
Silverman comes to Shop.org/NRF with a background in marketing
communications. Prior to joining Shop.org/NRF, Silverman was with
Fleishman-Hillard International Public Relations where he provided
corporate positioning, branding and marketing consulting to America
Online as well as numerous e-commerce and technology companies.
Prior to Fleishman-Hillard, Silverman held positions with KSK Communications
and the North American Telecommunications Association. Mr. Silverman
is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh.
