THE WINNERS OF THE EUROPEAN E-COMMERCE AWARDS ARE NOW ANNOUNCED >>

The European e-commerce market is growing strongly: all over Europe, (online) retailers are doing their best to please and serve their customers. In order to stimulate the e-commerce market everywhere in Europe, national associations, organisations and/or publishers are giving out national e-commerce awards to the best webshop(s) in their respective countries.

The Global E-commerce Summit and Ecommerce Europe take pride in organising the European E-commerce Awards 2014, which will this year be presented in 3 categories:

1) Entrepreneurial Award
2) Omnichannel Award
3) Pure Player Award

The winners of 2014 were:

Entrepreneurial Award:

  • Gold: Bol.com (The Netherlands)
  • Silver: Worldstores.co.uk (UK)
  • Bronze: Lexception.com (France)

Pure Player Award:

  • Gold: Asos
  • Silver: Amazon
  • Bronze: Net-a-Porter

Omnichannel Award:

  • Gold: Tesco
  • Silver: Marks & Spencer
  • Bronze: Bolia.com

The 4th edition of the European E-commerce Awards will take place as part of the Global E-commerce Summit on the 9th of June 2015. This is when we will find out who wins the bronze, silver and gold awards in the 3 different categories.


Where

The winners will be announced by the end of conference day 1, on the 9th of June 2015 in Barcelona

In Europe there are many brands, retailers and e-commerce pure-players who are doing amazing things in e-commerce. Some are content to innovate within the boundaries of their own countries while others are being even more pioneering in their engagement with other country markets. However, these innovative companies are not always visible to the whole industry. With this Award, we will recognise the e-commerce actors who have the most innovative, groundbreaking, smart, game-changing operations in Europe. As such, size and maturity are immaterial. However, the winner of this Award has to be a real entrepreneur in their field.

As you may know, all European countries have their own E-commerce Awards. Each jury member of each national Award will nominate a candidate for this Award.

The criteria we will consider are:
  • innovation
  • change
  • originality
  • true entrepreneurship
The European jury consists of equally-weighted representatives of the national juries. Last year we had 9 countries competing. If you're are nominated for your country, you will have to present your business case to the European jury and the delegates at the Global E-commerce Summit. After the presentations, the jury panel will make its decision based on the abovementioned criteria with the announcement of the bronze, silver and gold winners.

This June, 5 retailers will be nominated for the Omnichannel Award and 5 retailers will be nominated for the Pure Player Award. Find out who is doing the best job!

The Pure Player Award 2014

The criteria we considered were:
• Online players
• Physical goods
• Well known parties delivering on a European scale & in at least 3 countries
• Multilingual website
• European head office

Procedure
The top 5 of for both awards will be benchmarked with the ShopExperience Audit executed by GfK. The ShopExperience method is a quality assessment that measures the on-line and omni channel performance in an objective and structured way. The audit is carried out by a group of trained auditors within GfK.
The ShopExperience audit assesses the performance within the 5 steps from orientation to fulfillment. On 30 dimensions and with over 400 checkpoints!
Each of the checkpoints refers to the world wide best practice on a specific aspect of the e-commerce process. The output is a detailed score on the 30 dimensions. The audit results are input for the jury meeting.
