The European e-commerce market is still growing strong, and all over Europe (online) retailers are doing their best to please and serve the customer. To stimulate the e-commerce market everywhere in Europe national associations, organisations and/or publishers are giving out national e-commerce awards to the best webshop(s) of their country. At the 2011 Global E-Commerce Summit in Barcelona, the German music equipment retailer Thomann.de was allocated first prize in the award for the best online shop in Europe. The Silver Award went to Tailorstore.com (Sweden) while the Danish Nemlig.com won Bronze.

On the 5th of June 2012, at the setting of the Global E-commerce Summit in Barcelona, the 2nd edition of the European E-commerce Awards will take place. Not only will the European national winners be brought together to find out who will have the 'Best Webshop of Europe but we will also introduce the new award called 'Best Cross Border Webshop of Europe'.

This year the European E-commerce Awards dinner & ceremonies will take place in the La Dama del Paraguas. It is located in the Parque de la Ciutadella of Barcelona in one of the sides of the Zoo, with a direct and private access. In this unique and magical environment, surrounded by gardens and the presence of the Dama del Paraguas as a honour witness, the dinners, cocktails and organized aperitifs evolve into an unforgettable experience.
