About Global E-commerce Summit '09

The Global E-commerce Summit is an initiative of Shop.org, the US-based membership community for digital retail and EMOTA, the trade association of e-commerce and distance selling in Europe. Shop.org (USA) and EMOTA (Europe) represent the 25 largest global e-commerce markets.

For organizing and marketing the event Shop.org and EMOTA joint forces with BBP, a Netherlands based multimedia company. The collaboration between the 3 organizations and their members has provided a strong basis to draw speakers and attendees from across Europe, the United States and other parts of the world.

About EMOTA

EMOTA is the European E-commerce and Mail Order Trade Association and comprises 23 national associations from 22 countries: 19 from the European Union as it is today (Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany (2), Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Poland,The Netherlands, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden ) as well as Norway, Russia and Switzerland.

The mission of EMOTA is threefold:
• to serve as a platform for exchange of information and support between its 23 member associations ;

• to increase consumer confidence in buying at a distance (off- as well as on-line) by offering professional knowledge and know-how and by stimulating self-regulation within the sector;

• to represent the specific interests of e-commerce and distance selling trade in general.

About BBP

Beerens Business Press (BBP) is a Dutch multimedia company with a strong focus on online retailing, dialogue marketing and customer contact. These topics are presented in trade magazines, newsletters and websites as well as events and awards. Both the events and the magazines are leaders in their respective fields. The events attract over 15.000 vistors every year and the publications inform well over 100.000 professionals every month.

Scott Silverman

asd Served as executive director of Shop.org since 2001. He is responsible for the overall management and leadership of Shop.org and its mission to help its members significantly improve their multichannel retail capabilities by addressing the evolving opportunities and issues related to the Internet and the integration with other channels.

Patti Freeman Evans

P.Petermeijer Patti Freeman Evans is a senior analyst and research director with Jupiter Research, focusing on multi-channel retail strategy. She has nineteen years of diversified experience: expertise in creating customer-centric ecommerce sites, integrating channels effectively, developing innovative marketing initiatives and ensuring high-standard customer service and order fulfillment operations.

Thomas Steinmark

P.Petermeijer Dr. Thomas Steinmark studied law and economics in Frankfurt am Main and Heidelberg. He graduated from university with the German business administration degree and proceeded to a doctor of laws. In the years from 1975 to 1980 Dr. Steinmark was the research associate of the Law School of the University of Frankfurt. Thereon he moved to Cologne, where he worked as a research assistant for the Monopolies Commission which acted against restraints of competition in the postal sector. From the beginning of October 1981 on he started to work for a range of trade associations.

Susanne Czech

we Susanne Czech is a Doctor of Laws from the University of Graz, Austria. In 1994, she entered the Austrian Insurance Association, responsible for International Affairs, a position which she held for over 8 years. She then moved, in 2002, to the European Insurance Federation in Brussels, representing the common interests of the whole European insurance sector as Head of European Single Market Affairs and, later, also International Affairs.

Marc Lolivier

we Marc Lolivier has been appointed Délégué Général of the French E-commerce & Distant Selling Federation (FEVAD) in June 2002. Fevad has 382 members including 700 websites. It covers BtoC, BtoB and CtoC activities. All the e-retailers including eBay, Amazon, Pixmania, Redcats are members of Fevad. Prior to joining the FEVAD, he spent 11 years at Reader’s Digest Association, the world’s leading publishing and direct marketing company.

Wijnand Jongen

P.Petermeijer Home shopping, e-commerce, e-business, Internet retailing, multichannel retailing, cross-border shopping. These are all subjects with which Wijnand Jongen has been intensively involved during recent years; as consultant, advisor, speaker and entrepreneur.

Paul Petermeijer

P.Petermeijer CEO and Owner of multichannel Publisher BBP. Over the last 10 years he has launched a number of new magazines, events and awards all in the field of customer service e-commerce and catalogue marketing. Both events and the magazines are leaders in their respective fields.
